

In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centers that exist in all of our bodies. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain beliefs and major organs.
All human beings have 7 Chakras :
Root chakra (Muladhara): It is located at the base of your spine and it helps you feel grounded and able to withstand challenges with a sense of security and stability. It is governed by the Earth Element.
- A balanced Root Chakra would mean a greater degree of Gratitude, Practicality, Humility, Prosperity, and Integrity in one’s life.
- An imbalanced Root Chakra would bring problems like Laziness, Wealth Issues, Lack of Support in Family and Friends amongst others.
- In our Physical Body: Joint Pains, Back issues, Shoulder Pains, and Problems related to the legs would all be a consequence of an Imbalanced Root Chakra.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): It is located just below your belly button and is responsible for your sexual and creative energy along with your emotional balance and harmony. It is governed by the Water Element. - A balanced Sacral Chakra would mean a greater degree of expression of one’s sexuality, intimacy, and emotional strength.
- An Imbalanced Sacral Chakra would bring blocks like Fear of Intimacy, Body Shaming, Guilt, Lack of Sexual drive, or a Sexual Overdrive, being highly emotional amongst other problems.
- In our Physical Body: Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), Reproductive Issues, Menstrual Problems, Pains or Unwanted Discharges in the Excretory System would be a consequence of an Imbalanced Sacral Chakra.
Solar plexus chakra (Manipura)
It is located in your abdominal region and is responsible for confidence and self-esteem, as well as helping you feel a sense of control of your life. It is governed by the Fire Element. - A balanced Solar Plexus Chakra would bring a greater degree of Fire, Confidence, and a Sharp Personality.
- An imbalanced Solar Plexus Chakra would bring Low Self Esteem, Identity Crises, Lethargy amongst other problems
- In the Physical Body: Problems such as Acidity, Pancreatic Issues like Fluctuating Blood Sugar, Hypertension (BP Problems), etc would be attributed to an Imbalanced Solar Plexus Chakra.
Heart Chakra (Anahata)
It is located in the center of your chest and is responsible for our ability to love and show compassion. It is governed by the Air Element - A balanced Heart Chakra implies greater emotional autonomy, love, compassion, and healing relationships.
- An imbalanced Heart Chakra would mean more drama, conflict, and hatred in personal relationships.
- In the Physical Body: Problems such as Congestive Heart Failure, Lung Problems, Bradycardia, etc are all a consequence of a blocked Heart Chakra.
Throat chakra (Vishuddha)
The throat chakra has to do with our ability to communicate verbally. It is governed by the Ether element. - A Balanced Throat Chakra would imply open and clear communication, greater clarity of thought, and clarity of expression.
- A Blocked Throat Chakra would imply blocks to expression, lying, and incessant swearing.
- In the Physical Body: Problems such as Thyroid, Tonsils are related to blocks in the Throat Chakra.
Third eye chakra (Ajna)
The third eye chakra, or Ajna, is located between your eyes and is responsible for your intuition. It is governed by the Ether Element. - A Balanced Third Eye Chakra is responsible for a strong gut instinct and is also linked to a vivid imagination. Moreover, a stronger immunity is also a function of the Third Eye.
- An imbalanced Third Chakra would mean not being able to differentiate between Fear and your Gut, weaker immunity, confusion among other problems.
- In the Physical Body: A blocked Third Eye Chakra would mean Migraines, Headaches, Ear Pain, Cataract and other eye problems.
Crown chakra (Shasrara)
The crown chakra is located at the top of your head and represents your spiritual connection to yourself, others, and the universe. It is also governed by the Ether Element. - A Balanced Crown Chakra would mean a greater connection to higher planes, greater divinity, and Ascension.
- An Imbalanced Crown Chakra would mean lesser divinity, frequent entity attacks, and an inability to connect with the Creator.
- In the Physical Body: Crown Chakra blocks would mean frequent headaches and balance issues.
